Saturday dinner

Tomato soup with red lentils, chili, garlic and celery. Small diced bits of grilled chicken.
As dessert – Gooey buttery apple-cake with vanilla, cardamom and lemon. Coconut cream and strawberries

      Moroccan! That sounds interesting! I’m curious, how do you do that? What veggies, herbs and spices do you use?
      At “my” cafeteria they make a lentil soup with chopped onions and tomatoes, and then fresh thyme. It’s so delicious!

      1. Onions and diced tomatoes are basically the only veggies (other than the lentils). There are lots of spices: cumin, coriander, ground ginger, cinnamon, smoked paprika, turmeric, nutmeg, white pepper and some chilli.


      2. Thanks! I know of those spices and use them a lot, though maybe not all of them in the same course.
        When I cook ayurvedic style, I normally use cumin, coriander, ginger, turmeric and black pepper as some kind of basic seasoning. Often I also use fennel added to that. And it’s fun to experiment.

    1. Well! It wasn’t that bad. The cake I mean. No sugar. And most of it was small applechunks, one egg and half/half coconut flour and rice flour. Yes butter! But not as much that it became greasy.
      And you just have to treat yourself sometimes! Give to the soul! O_o
